A Method for Collaborative Argumentation in Merging Individual Ontologies
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper proposes a framework of the negotiation process for solving divergences in the collaborative ontology development. Such framework is obtained through the use of philosophical principles deriving from the theories of essence, identity, unity and dependence (preconized by the OntoClean methodology) as to justify part of the argumentation used in the negotiation process among the participants, besides helping reach a consensus and reduce the conceptual gap among models. The evaluation of the experiments conducted with the use of the proposed method suggests the feasibility and implementability of our approach in practice.

Ontology Merging Using Belief Revision and Defeasible Logic Programming
We combine argumentation, belief revision and description logic ontologies for extending the δ-ontologies framework to show how to merge two ontologies in which the union of the strict terminologies could lead to inconsistency. To solve this problem, we revisit a procedure presented by Falappa et al. in which part of the offending terminologies are turned defeasible by using a kernel revision o...
متن کاملe-Class in Ontology Engineering: integrating Ontologies to Argumentation and Semantic Wiki technology
The aim of this paper is to present an approach for constructing e-classes in ontology engineering education. Such classes concern the shaping of specific information spaces (domains of discourse) into ontologies in a collaborative way. The work is based on a collaborative ontology engineering methodology and a meta-ontology framework for developing ontologies, namely HCOME and HCONE-3O. The in...
متن کاملComputer-supported argumentation: A review of the state of the art
Argumentation is an important skill to learn. It is valuable not only in many professional contexts, such as the law, science, politics, and business, but also in everyday life. However, not many people are good arguers. In response to this, researchers and practitioners over the past 15–20 years have developed software tools both to support and teach argumentation. Some of these tools are used...
متن کاملAn Argument-Based Approach to Using Multiple Ontologies
Logic-based argumentation offers an approach to querying and revising multiple ontologies that are inconsistent or incoherent. A common assumption for logic-based argumentation is that an argument is a pair 〈Φ,α〉 where Φ is a minimal subset of the knowledgebase such that Φ is consistent and Φ entails the claimα. Using dialogue games, agents (each with its own ontology) can exchange arguments an...
متن کاملCollaborative Information Seeking Behavior: Concepts and Theories
Background and Aim: Collaborative information seeking is an interaction among members of a group who purposefully try to access and share joint information. Although collaboration is a key component of information seeking behavior, but most of the studies in this area are focused on individual information seeking behavior and collaborative aspects are considered much less. As a result, there is...
